Our Story

Finding a reliable civil engineering contractor hasn’t always been easy, with delays and disruptions being all too common. That’s why, in 1982, we set out to change that.

Over four decades later, PKB Civils has grown into a trusted name, delivering groundworks, drainage and concreting projects all across the UK. From industrial and manufacturing to logistics and port industries, we’ve built expertise amongst a range of sectors.

Today, as a principal contractor, we deliver projects in excess of £1 million in some of the nation’s busiest operational environments. From yard resurfacing and redevelopments to compound installations and concreting works, we’ve become the specialist’s choice for clients who value expertise and efficiency.

1982

Peter Brearley forms the company P&K Brearley, and residential groundworks projects make up the most of our day-to-day work.

2010

Peter's son, Paul, joins the business as a Groundworker. We'd soon become P&K Brearley & Son.

2022

We’re celebrating 40 years in business, rebranding to PKB Civils, reflecting our commitment to delivering end-to-end solutions for every phase of your project.

2024

We're a industry-leading civil engineering company, with our Yard Solutions & Compound Installations teams delivering complex projects right across the UK.
